Complaints Management
Scientific Collaborative Online Publishing Universal Academy (SCOPUA) is committed to maintaining high standards of editorial integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices. To ensure accountability and trust, the SCOPUA has established a clear and structured complaints management process.
- Corrections and Amendments
SCOPUA issues formal corrections when significant errors are identified in published materials. These may include:
Author-related errors (Corrigenda): Substantial mistakes introduced by the author that affect the accuracy, interpretation, or integrity of the work.
Publisher or editorial errors (Errata): Errors resulting from editorial handling, formatting, production, or administrative processes.
- Complaints Handling
Any individual (author, reviewer, reader, or stakeholder) may submit a complaint regarding editorial decisions, ethical concerns, procedural issues, or publication practices. Complaints must be submitted in writing with clear details and supporting evidence where applicable.
The Chief Editor will acknowledge the complaint within a reasonable timeframe. A preliminary assessment will be conducted to determine the nature and seriousness of the concern. The Chief Editor will consult with the corresponding author and relevant editorial board members or production staff as necessary. All parties will be given an opportunity to present their perspective. The objective is to resolve concerns fairly, transparently, and in accordance with established publishing standards.
If the complainant or involved parties find the internal resolution unsatisfactory, or if the matter involves serious ethical misconduct, SCOPUA may refer the case to an independent external body for impartial adjudication. This process will follow recognized international best-practice guidelines, including those recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics. All complaints are handled confidentially and without prejudice. SCOPUA ensures:
- Protection from retaliation for complainants acting in good faith.
- Impartial review and evidence-based decisions.
- Proper documentation of all stages of the complaint process.
Complaints are viewed not only as disputes to be resolved but as opportunities to strengthen quality control, transparency, and ethical compliance.
